As an elected official, it is my responsibility to regularly meet with other elected officials and entities and let them know how their decisions impact the residents. One such issue is the formula used by the State of Illinois to fund our public schools, which relies heavily on property taxes.

Despite representing the residents of Cook County who have historically been over-assessed and over-taxed, the Board of Review District Three always has the lowest number of appeals filed. I will work with the other commissioners to ensure our board meetings are broadcast live and that recordings are available on demand to the residents.

My office will provide periodic reports on the stats of the appeals filed. Those stats will include but are not limited to information such as a breakdown of the property type/class that was filed, the number of appeals filed, the rate of appeal success, the change in assessed value, etc.

My office will also provide stats on our outreach efforts.
